This experiment was carried out to exploit useful and easy made medium for shoot proliferation, and to produce vigorous and large seedlings through rhizome culture of Cymbidium kanran in vitro. Number of large shoots and shoot development percentage were increased in Murashige and Skoog medium mixed with Wuxal (12 : 4 : 6), Kampsal (7 : 7 : 7), Hyponex (5 : 10 : 5) and chemical compound fertilizer (18 : 18 : 18). Especially, addition of Wuxal 3∼5g/ℓ or Hyponex 3g/ℓ to Murashige and Skoog medium was the most effective. Remarkable increase of shoot growth was achieved in Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with Kampsal 1∼3g/ℓ or chemical compound fertilizer 1∼3g/ℓ, and in Hyponex 3g/L added Kampsal 1∼3g/ℓ or chemical compound fertilizer 1g/ℓ. As above result, Hyponex 3g/ℓ＋Wuxal 5㎖/ℓ, Kampsal 1∼g/ℓ or chemical compound fertilizer 1∼3g/ℓ, and Wuxal 3㎖/ℓ＋chemical compound fertilizer 1g/ℓ were useful and easy made new medium for rhizome culture of Cymbi dium kanran in vitro.
